February 10th – Nine representatives from TCCC (Black and White Photos) went to the Markham Miracle Fundraising dinner event to help rebuild schools in Haiti through the organization “Free the Children.” On behalf of  the Toronto Chinese Comunity Church Rev. Dr. Harding Ng presented a cheque of $ 5,654.98 to Mayor Frank Scarpitti (left) with Councillor Alex Chiu of Ward 8 looking on (right).

On February 11th the  Toronto Chinese Evangelical Ministerial Fellowship (TCEMF) Committee (colour photos) chaired by Rev. Dr. Harding Ng called a press release at The Century Palace Restaurant to announce the total Haiti earthquake fundraising from Chinese churches of all denominations. Besides the money collection so far, we also appeal to churches in forming STM teams for rebuilding of educational, medical and infra-structures objectives to back up our strong evangelistic mandate. The needs of numerous orphans will also be addressed through partnering with organizations specializing in this aspect. The purpose is to let the community know of the Chinese churches’ holistic gospel initiative.

The total fund of $ 686,613 (becoming $ 1,373,226 with Canadian Federal Govt. dollar-for-dollar matching) from 57 Chinese churches & 2 Christian organizations was raised.
